Amanda Sanders
Image and Wardrobe Specialist

Amanda Sanders is a graduate of the prestigious School of Fine Arts at Boston University with a degree in costume design. Specializing in creating signature looks for celebrity and other high-profile clientele, Amanda has experienced tremendous success in both television and film, as well as in multiple print forms. With fifteen years of fashion experience, her work as a costume designer and stylist has consistently provided her the opportunity to dress such style mavens as Gwyneth Paltrow, Jamie Foxx, David A. Grier, Ananda Lewis, Rosie Perez and Robin Givens. She has also styled Dave Chappelle, Colin Quinn, John Stossel, Whoopi Goldberg, Wanda Sykes, Jennifer Coolidge, Lynn Whitfield, as well as several Arista Records musicians. Amanda’s longest-standing relationship, however, is with comedian Chris Rock. Amanda first worked with Rock when she landed a job as costume designer on HBO’s long-running, Emmy Award-winning “The Chris Rock Show.” Since then she has become his personal stylist and has dressed him for many of his public appearances, including his hosting appearance at the 2005 Academy Awards and his 1999 and 2000 MTV Video Music Award appearances. Amanda also styled Rock’s “Chris Rock: Never Scared” stand-up comedy tour, and she collaborated with designer Calvin Klein for Rock’s wardrobe on the “Chris Rock: Bigger and Blacker” tour. Amanda works so closely with Rock on his clothing style that when he was awarded the Best Personal Style prize at the 1998 VH1 Fashion Awards, he not only thanked Amanda, but promptly handed her the Prada-designed trophy.

In addition, Amanda has been the wardrobe stylist for photo shoots for “Glamour,” “The New York Times Magazine,” “Maxim,” “Paper” (cover), “Time Magazine” (cover), “Parade” (cover), “Radio Times” (cover), “T.V. Guide” (cover), and “Time Out” (cover), as well as for several Snapple commercials. She has designed costumes for the movies Pootie Tang, Head of State, Bad Company, Down to Earth, Wirey Spindell, Life Happens, Broadway Damage, and the independent film Girls Town. Her other credits as a costume designer and wardrobe stylist include the television series "Ruby" (the Ruby Wax Show), "Forgive or Forget,” "Premium Blend" (with T. Davidson, David A. Grier and Wanda Sykes), and “Living it Up! With Ali & Jack.” Most recently, Amanda has been styling the host of "Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn," a popular talk show on Comedy Central.

Wanting to provide the same level of in-depth and personal assistance to non-celebrities, Amanda eventually branched out into image consulting. She has now teamed up with New York Image Consultant, Co. to bring her consummate brand of skill, knowledge, and style to all. As a result, she has won rave reviews for her shrewd, yet undemanding way of meeting the needs of NYIC’s diverse clientele. From instilling effortless confidence to providing everlasting fashion input to the public, Amanda Sanders is the premier image and wardrobe specialist.
